O2’s New Announcement

Posted by Anonymous Monday, December 9, 2013

O2 has announced it will build a free-to-access Wi-Fi network in the Nottinghamshire market town of Newark.
The O2 Wi-Fi will allow Newark shoppers and visitors to use the free and secure internet service, regardless of network, after they have registered when first logging in.

Once registered, customers will automatically be connected to O2 Wi-Fi when they enter a coverage area.
O2 will begin installing Wi-Fi technology into buildings and street furniture in January 2014. The operator will share the cost of the equipment, installation and maintenance with the council, which will coordinate and commission any maintenance and repair through its own contractor on behalf of O2.
